Tasting Notes For Paul Hobbs Coombsville Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
On the palate, this wine is incredibly balanced, with well-integrated tannins and fresh acidity that provide a smooth and silky mouthfeel. The flavors of boysenberry and black fig are complemented by subtle notes of rosemary and a crush rock minerality that add depth and complexity to the wine. The finish is long and satisfying, leaving a lingering taste of ripe fruit and earthy tones.
Critic Ratings
With an attention- getting purple-black hue, this astound- ing red is silky but manages to eke out teeth-grabbing, dusty black-tea tannins. A host of flavors, among them graphite, black raspberry, violets, and Worces- tershire, sends a message of intensity. Earth and soil notes are apparent, sur- rounding a mineral component within the wine’s deep core.
James Suckling Review – Rated 97:
Excellent complexity of blackcurrant, lead pencil and oyster. Some redwood and bark. Full to medium body with wonderfully crafted tannins that run the length of the wine with so much subtle and complex character of graphite and fruit. Structured and classic. Bordeaux blend with cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, merlot and petit verdot.
With concentration and density, this Cabernet Sauvignon from the internationally known Paul Hobbs spins with flavors of dried tobacco, resinous woods and a blend of sweet, warmed spices on dark fruits.
